The duties of the assistant harbormaster vary from day to day depending on weather and boating traffic. Applicants should be hardworking, dependable, possess good people skills, and must be comfortable working alone as well as cohesively with several team members depending on the situation or schedule.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Customer service duties in the office and fuel dock, assisting Boaters in tying up and casting off boats, maintaining the various facilities such as cleaning bathrooms showers and the boaters lounge, and light maintenance of the grounds and docks.
Assistant Harbor Masters typically work 5 days a week, in 7 hr. shifts. To provide coverage during all hours of operation. Scheduling is done with consideration of requests, and shifts are swappable with others to provide flexibility.
Experience is not necessary, as training in all aspects of the job will be provided.
